Say “salúd” to Escalante’s Tex-Mex

The Agency Hack has been hired by Escalante’s Tex-Mex – the Houston institution since 1993. Work for the brand will include seasonal promotions, menu design, paid serach and social plus special projects.

For thirty years, Escalante's has helped define the Tex-Mex dining tradition in Houston – the 2nd largest Mexican restaurant city in the US. In 1993, Pat Torres and Kopi Vogiatzis opened the first Escalante's location in Houston, honoring the recipes of Pat's grandmother Barbara Escalante. Today, there are seven H-Town locations.

Escalante’s was acquired by in 2023 by Houston-based Más Mex, a private-equity-backed group of neighborhood Mexican restaurants that focus on chef-inspired recipes, fresh ingredients, stellar staff and bringing people together to fiesta.

“HACK has done an amazing job with another one of our brands in Chicago, so we’ve asked them to now help with one a little close to home ,” said Linda Neukirchner, SVP of Marketing at Más Mex.

“I can’t tell you how excited we are to work on Escalante’s,” said HACK partner, strategist and writer Mike Stopper. “Ken is from Houston, and so is my wife. So we’re intimately familiar with their incredible scratch made food, which educated Houston on true Tex-Mex.”

HACK is a boutique advertising agency from Dallas industry veterans Ken Womack and Mike Stopper who provide award-winning, senior level talent without the staffing layers, wasted time, cost and unclear results found in many of today’s agencies.
