Womack debuts “GIANT” at Museum of the Southwest

Partner Ken Womack from The Agency Hack debuted his first-ever solo art exhibit called “GIANT” at the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, Texas. The exhibit runs June 11 – September 13 and features 23 large-scale sculptures crafted by Womack.

Governor John Connolly cut the ribbon originally opening the Museum of the Southwest in 1965 as a community asset for culture, science, families, and education serving the remote West Texas town. The museum is situated in a 5,300 sq ft mansion built in 1937 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

“I’m excited to meet the people of Midland and share a collection of sculptures designed to provoke, engage, entertain and resonate,” said Womack. “These pieces have motion, LED, and neon, and it’s just a very colorful, fun, interactive experience.”

Born and raised in Texas, Womack and his art are heavily influenced by Americana through nostalgia and a pop-culture lens, often in collaboration with different companies.

After graduating with a fine arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin, Womack worked as an art director at advertising agencies in Houston and Dallas throughout his 30+ year career. “But as they say, man can not live on advertising alone,” said Womack. So he began to take his love of art more seriously in 2018, when he began producing his initial work. 

This led to an artist-in-residence program in spring 2024 at Scout Design Studio in Dallas, where he now primarily operates. Though he has exhibited his works in other galleries or in collaboration with different groups, “GIANT” will be his first-ever museum show, and his first-ever solo exhibition, and will serve as something of a retrospective on the last five years of his artistry career and his life as a Texan.

“Texas is boot-deep with iconography,” said Ken Womack. “‘GIANT’ transforms the familiar into something undeniable — forcing a deeper reckoning with what we think we know.”
